Your save-the-dates and wedding invitations are the first impression your guests will get of your wedding day, and can really set the tone. But after the celebration has come and gone, the photographs including all your special details, like those gorgeous invitations, are what leave you with the lasting memories.
Detail shots, or flat lays as many photographers refer to them, serve to create a beautiful snapshot of your day. These photos display key items (often arranged on a flat surface – hence the name) that summarize the theme of your wedding day by highlighting everything from your chosen color palette to the overall aesthetic.
With so many details that go into your your wedding day, you may be wondering exactly which items would compliment your stationery to make for great flat lays. Well, no worries — we’ve got your covered!
We’ve rounded up a quick list of items to include, along with your Orlando Wedding Invitations, to help you create the perfect photos of your wedding day details to look back on.
As you’re gathering all your wedding day items, pack these items in a separate bag or box and have your Wedding Planner give them to your Photographer on the wedding day.
And, all of the talented wedding invitation and stationery designers included in the photos below can be found right here in Orlando!
1. Extra Invitations & Envelopes

Include 2 or 3 clean copies of the invitation and their envelopes, in case there are multiple elements that need to be photographed together.
2. Accessories & Their Storage

Don’t just bring the accessories, but something to hold them in as well. These elements may seem secondary, but they make for really delicate shots — so don’t forget to bring along the monogramed ring box or coordinating jewelry dish to highlight and accent any precious jewelry.
3. Postage Goes a Long Way

If your stamps are unique and pretty, don’t forget to include a few extras to enhance those detail shots!
4. Those Fun Extras

If other memorable items are involved in solidifying the vibe of your celebration — like welcome bags or coasters — make sure you get those photographed as well! All of these items are so special in setting the tone for your guests and you’ll want to remember every detail.
5. Texture, Texture, Texture

Including foliage, floral clippings and other textured items that are consistent with the theme (ribbons, fabrics, etc) is a beautiful way to convey the overall feel of the day through photos!
6. Bring All the Accessories

Remember all the accessories that make the day feel like you and your partner – like shoes, jewelry, perfume, pocket squares, cologne, engagement ring + wedding bands. You know… all those little elements you’ve put so much thought and time into collecting and including during the planning process! These items mean so much when thinking about all that goes into creating your special day.
7. And, the Stationery Too!

Don’t forget to include other paper items like place cards and menus that really tied the theme together, and don’t forget to add a few extra wax seals, if you’re using those too. Those are the details that transport you back to each special moment of your wedding day!
